REGLEMENT OF THE MODERN PENTATHLON

The calculation of the points is not as complicated as it is imagined. For each test one sets a standard of performance which is worth 1 000 points in Pentathlon Moderne. Horsemanship makes exception, the maximum of points being of 1100.

When Pentathlète obtains better results that the standard of 1000 points, it deserves points in more and in the contrary case, one removes points to him.

The winner of the competitions is that which accumulated the greatest number of points.

The competitions in Pentathlon Moderne are the following ones:

 traditional test in 2 or 3 days

 test of relay on 1 or 2 days with a team of 3 athletes

 test in one day

FENCING

Test with the sword.

Single characteristic hen in a key in one minute. The winner will be that which will have added up the greatest number of victories over his adversaries. To deserve 1000 points, it is necessary to gain 70% of the possible attacks.

For the final of the World cup, the number of participants being lower than 21, the fencing will proceed on 2 consecutive keys

SWIMMING

300 m freestyle for the boys 3' 54 give 1000 points

Each second in more or less gives 8 points in more or less

200 m freestyle for the girls 2' 40 give 1000 points

Each second in more or less gives 8 points in more or less

 TIR

Test with the gun, compressed-air, 10 m on fixed targets

On a possible score of 200, 182 gives 1000 points. Very point-target in more or less is worth 1 5 points.

 RACE

Any kind of possible ground.

3000 m for the tiny ones, juniors, juniors boys

10' 30 " gives 1000 points. Each second in more or less is worth 4 points

4000 m for the seniors boys

14' 15 " gives 1000 points. Each second in more or less is worth 3 points

2000 m for the women

7' 40 " gives 1000 points. Each second in more or less is worth 5 points Particularité two kinds possible starting in series or departure-handicap.

 HORSEMANSHIP

Horse show of 350/400 m

12 obstacles, of which a double and triple.

Time calculated on the basis of 350m/minute

Characteristic the horse is known competitor only 20 minutes before the departure of the test, by drawing of lots.

A course without fault gives 1100 points. Points are removed in the event of refusal, inversion of obstacles, falls and of exceeded time.
